Crumby progress

I've finished 44 crumb blocks (42 shown below). I can't decide if this is enough or if I want to make it a bit bigger. I'm wondering if 48 or 56 might be the right number.

This week we are making log cabin blocks. I was playing with the idea of warm/cool colors and also light/dark. I like the way they came out and am imagining a whole quilt of these...

Last week's blocks were all about triangles. I made a few more after my last post and found a few random blocks that I don't think made it online. Here are all of the ones I've put together recently. I will definitely make more log cabins too before Jo posts the next set of instructions

  1. These all look so good! Great log cabins too. I have not started mine, guess I better do that tomorrow.

  2. Your blocks are inspiring me. Great colour and movement in the ones you've posted. I'll be diving into my crumb bin tomorrow and hope to come up with some blocks as lovely as yours.

  4. Great blocks! Isn't it fun when an idea takes on a life of it's own and starts another new quilt?!

  5. Hmmm, make more blocks? That depends how full is your crumb stash spot!! Your blocks are looking beautiful and the way you've got them spaced above, I'm thinking you are going to sash them (and I like that idea) which would also affect the size of the finished quilt top.

Don't worry it'll "speak to you" when it's at a stopping point. Have fun until then!

  6. Your quilt is WONDERFUL so far. I made my first crumb quilt pretty big...it was a 14 x 14 setting. I am liking the smaller this time around at 6 x 7.
